ABI urges being tough on young drivers
The ABI (Association of British Insurers) are encouraging
the government to legislate tougher rules on young drivers. They have
urged the government to introduce a minimum time period of being a
learner driver before they sit their tests and also a limit on the
number of passengers they can carry once they have passed the test.
Director of general insurance at the ABI said, 'Every
day, four people are killed or seriously injured in crashes involving
young drivers, and the trend is getting worse.....by doing so, this
tragic loss of life can be reduced.'
