Occupations
The reason that car insurers ask for your job is because
it can have a significant influence on the price of your policy. Car
insurers regard certain jobs as higher risk than other. For example.
An office worker who parks his car in the same secure car park every
day is perhaps less likely to have an accident than a salesperson,
who travels the country on unfamiliar roads and parks in a different
place every day. Construction workers who park on building sites where
there is likely to be heavy plant traffic or musicians who carry theft
attracting expensive instruments in their cars late at night may also
be higher risk. As with everything else on an insurance policy, it
is better to be honest and pay a higher policy premium than to lie
on you insurance application and risk the insurer walking away from
a claim.
