Renewal Premium

When your insurance is about to expire your current insurer will usually send you a quote to insure for another year with them. This quote is generally referred to the renewal premium. Some insurers leave this until very close to the policy expiring before sending the renewal premium in the hope that you won't have time to shop around or sending it so early that you forget about it. It is usually wise not to accept your renewal premium as the best option and to shop around. You may be able to find a quote much cheaper.
