Displayed Valuables Risks Insurance

In a recent survey commissioned by the Post Office has found that up to 18 per cent of motorists leave valuable items on display in their cars. The average value of these items, the most common of which are CDs, coats and shoes is a staggering £134.

Valuables should be placed in the boot or at the very least out of site as many car insurances do not cover for property stolen from cars and with thieves increasingly finding it difficult to drive away with cars due to modern alarms and immobilisers, smash and grab crimes are becoming all too common. Worse still, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) have said that drivers who are careless when leaving their vehicle may not be able to claim from their car insurance.
