Most accidents occur close to home
A recent survey by moneysupermarket.com has found that car accidents
are more likely to occur close to home than on motorways or A-roads
or dual carriageways.
Up to one third of insurance claims are for accidents on roads close
to home compared to a quarter of accidents which occur on A-roads
or dual carriageways and only 1 in 20 claims from motorway accidents.
Although obviously motorists spend a lot of time on roads close to
home, Richard Mason, managing director for the company suggested that
perhaps motorists paid less attention when they were driving closer
to their homes.
