Norwich Union 'Pay as you Drive' goes online.

Norwich Union who introduced their 'Pay as you Drive' scheme around the middle of last year have made it available online. There will actually be two schemes, one for drivers in the 18-23 age category and one for those in the age category 24-65.

The scheme involves placing a black box in the car that tracks the cars movements and the insurance bill is calculated on a per mile basis depending on time of day (night driving can be more expensive) and location.

Customers will have to pay to have the 'black box' installed in their vehicle. Concerns have be raised by some people about having a device in their car that can track their every movement although other only concern is that their policy cost comes down.
