36% have no home insurance
The British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) have
released new research showing that over a third of home owners do
not have buildings insurance. This means that in the event of a fire
or other incident, the owner would be left to pick up the bill.
Also the survey revealed that one in five has no contents
insurance, leaving the occupants with no recompense in the event of
a burglary or accidental damage to household goods.
Buildings insurance covers the fabric of the building,
contents insurance covers items that can be lifted and taken out of
the house.
